  • People vote for the person that is going to help (or at least try to help) make his/her life a little better. For the top 1%, evangelicals, conservative leaning independents, and teabaggers, etc. vote for republicans; everyone else votes for democrats.

  • On the other hand we have republicans that don't seem to be pandering to anyone based on their race but more by the content of their character. Did you mean thickness of their wallet. I don't see republicans "pandering" to anyone under the top 1%, except for hard core bible thumpers.
